Music and Spirit in Action

This February, we celebrate the music, spirit, service, and faith-filled moments unfolding across our school communities. Students are discovering and developing their unique gifts through a Christ-centered education. Whether expressed through song, teamwork, learning, or service, these moments reflect the vibrant spirit that defines our Catholic schools.

Music and faith come alive at Holy Family School in Hicksville, where students build strong musical skills through song, instruments, movement, and composition. From liturgical music at Mass to choir, chorus, and American Sign Language performance, students learn to praise with heart and harmony. Pictured here, their third graders joyfully master the recorder- one note at a time!

School spirit was on full display as the Our Lady of Guadalupe

Catholic School's Girls Basketball team in Deer Park took to the court with heart and determination. Their teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance reflect values that shape students both in and out of the classroom. These young athletes lift one another up, embodying unity and confidence.

In honor of Black History Month, students at Our Lady of Peace School in Lynbrook learned about the spirit, courage, and faith of Ruby Bridges. Through her story, children explored bravery, justice, and standing firm for what is right. Her legacy continues to inspire thoughtful reflection and compassion in their classroom.

Music and spirit took center stage as students from St. Elizabeth Ann

Seton Regional School in Bellmore performed in the 43rd Annual Long Island Catholic School Honor Band Concert at St. Anthony’s High School. This cherished tradition brings together talented young musicians to grow in skill, collaboration, and poise. Their performances lifted hearts and showcased the power of music to inspire.

Spirited faith in action was on full display as basketball players from St. Martin de Porres Marianist School in Uniondale participated in community service at Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County. By helping in classrooms and organizing the school library, these student athletes shared their time and talents with joy. Their service reflected generosity, compassion, and the true spirit of Catholic education.

Joy and connection filled the halls at St. Martin of Tours School in Amityville as Catholic

Schools Week concluded with a fun “Teacher Swap.” Students enjoyed new experiences while building relationships across grade levels. Moments like these strengthen the school community and celebrate the spirit of learning together.
