Run For Tomorrow's Hope

On the morning of Saturday, March 14, St. Joseph School in Garden City proudly hosted the 11th Annual Run for Tomorrow’s Hope, once again sponsored by the Catholic High Schools of Long Island.

The day began with a heartfelt blessing from Bishop Andrzej, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, followed by a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem by St. Joseph School alumna Kiera Liantonio.

After years of rain, participants were greeted by bright sunshine. Nearly 500 runners and walkers registered to take part in both the 1-mile Fun Run and the 5K, representing 20 Catholic schools, including 13 Long Island Catholic elementary schools.

Thanks to overwhelming support, the event not only met its $40,000 fundraising goal but exceeded it, raising over $45,000 and setting a new record.

St. William the Abbot School in Seaford swept the special awards category, earning the title of Fastest Elementary School along with the St. Joseph’s Cup, awarded for the highest level of school participation. The school also celebrated Ella, a 5th-grade student, whose design was selected as the winner of this year’s t-shirt contest.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the 2026 Run Committee, especially first-year Run Director Robert Fioravanti, Co-Chair Dr. Michael Spinelli, Victoria Spinelli, as well as our generous sponsors and St. Joseph School for once again hosting this incredible event.

A Christmas Evening

Thank you to all who joined us for Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation’s A Christmas Evening on Tuesday, December 9th at the Columbus Citizens Foundation in New York City. It was a beautiful night filled with faith, fellowship, and the shared commitment to ensuring a bright future for Catholic education across Long Island.

The evening began with a heartfelt invocation from the Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, John O. Barres, setting a thoughtful and prayerful tone for the celebration. Event Co-Chair and 2021 Honoree Joseph Tarantino warmly welcomed guests and introduced this year’s honorees, Theresa and Austin Lotito, who graciously accepted the 2025 Advent Star Award. Their unwavering generosity, leadership, and dedication to Catholic education embody the very spirit of the Advent season.

We were also honored to hear from Peggy York, newly appointed Vice Chair of Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, who presented a special video unveiling the public launch of our campaign, Generations of Hope. This campaign is designed to strengthen the future of Catholic elementary education by expanding scholarships and ensuring every child, today and for generations to come, has access to a safe, faith-filled, high-quality education.

We are grateful to share that the evening raised over $225,000, and counting. This remarkable outpouring of support will help ease the financial burden on families and sustain Catholic schools, opening doors of opportunity for more students in the year ahead and well into the future.
