Back-to-School, Back to Hope

As another school year begins across Long Island, hundreds of children are walking through the doors of their Catholic elementary schools filled with excitement and hope. For many of them, that first day is only possible because of supporters like you.
One of those students is Jacob.

Jacob is beginning his final year at St. Patrick School in Bay Shore, eighth grade, his last before high school. He's spent his whole life there, growing up alongside the same classmates, guided by teachers who know him well.
His mother, Elsa, always believed a Catholic education would shape Jacob into a compassionate, faithful, resilient young man. She's watched it happen. But last year, that future nearly slipped away.
While caring for Jacob's younger sister, Juliette, whose medical and developmental needs require constant therapies, Elsa faced a choice no parent should have to make: her daughter's healthcare, or her son's education.
Tomorrow's Hope stepped in. In Elsa's words:
"When we learned Jacob had received tuition assistance, I felt overwhelming relief and gratitude. He remained with the teachers who believed in him, the classmates who had grown up beside him, and the faith-filled community that continues to shape his character. You gave our family much more than tuition assistance. You gave us stability. You gave us hope. You reminded us that we were not alone."
This September, Jacob walks back through those doors, with his friends, his teachers, and one more year to grow in a community that has become part of who he is.
Jacob's story is not unique. This year, Tomorrow's Hope awarded a record $2.7 million in tuition assistance to approximately 1,000 students across the 35 Catholic elementary schools we serve. And still, families demonstrated over $8 million in need, leaving a gap of more than $5 million, even as tuition climbs another 4.5%, to roughly $8,600 per student.
Behind every one of those dollars is a child like Jacob, whose future depends on the kindness of someone they've never met.
Please make a generous gift to Tomorrow's Hope Foundation's Annual Fund today, so that more children can stay in the classrooms where they belong, learning, growing, and building the friendships that will shape them for life.
Together, we can make sure every child begins this school year with hope.
