Dear Friend of Tomorrow's Hope,
When Our Lady of Victory School in Floral Park held a special assembly last month, the students were asked to define charity. One second grader stood and proudly announced “Charity is the greatest theological virtue!”
That simple yet profound answer reflects the heart of Catholic education—teaching children not only knowledge but also the values that guide them to become compassionate, faith-filled individuals. Every day, students in Catholic elementary schools across Long Island put these lessons into action, engaging in service projects that make a meaningful difference in their communities and beyond.
Many of these students are attending Catholic school because of tuition assistance made possible by Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation. Through your generosity, families in need can provide their children with an education rooted in faith, charity, and love. And these children—our future leaders—are already giving back in ways that inspire us all.
During this season of giving, we are proud to highlight just a few of these beautiful acts of charity given by our students:
Students from St. John Paul II School in Riverhead and St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope in Westbury have organized collections of blankets and towels for local animal shelters, ensuring that pets in need have comfort and care.
Seventh-grade students from St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope are preparing bagged lunches, which they donate to the Parish Outreach Food Pantry, bringing nourishment and hope to families in their community.
Other students from Our Lady of the Hamptons in Southampton and St. Martin of Tours in Amityville have been busy collecting canned goods and can openers to support families in need within their local parishes.
These inspiring efforts demonstrate that Catholic education is more than academics—it’s about forming children of character who live the Gospel message of love and compassion. Thanks to Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, students across Long Island are not only receiving this education but also spreading the spirit of charity far and wide.
However, for many families, rising tuition puts this transformative education just out of reach. As they struggle to bridge the gap between their financial resources and hopes for their children’s future, the dream of a faith-filled education becomes harder to achieve.
This is where your generosity makes all the difference! A gift to Tomorrow’s Hope opens the door for more students to attend Catholic school, where they receive an excellent education and learn values.
This Thanksgiving, please consider making a donation to help our families in need. Together, we can ensure these children grow academically, spiritually, and in service to others—gifts that will last a lifetime.
May your Thanksgiving be filled with joy, gratitude, and many blessings.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Ismini Scouras
Executive Director
P.S. Did you know that 12% of the entire K-8th grade student body of all 35 Catholic schools in our network across Long Island receive Tomorrow’s Hope support?
