Together, we give thanks... and give hope!

Dear Friend of Tomorrow's Hope,

As we gather this Thanksgiving season to count our blessings, we are reminded that gratitude

shines brightest during life’s most challenging times.

For one Long Island family, faith and the gift of Catholic education have been a source of strength through unimaginable hardship.

In February 2021, Shane, then a bright and athletic nine-year-old at Trinity Regional School in East Northport, was diagnosed with leukemia. He and his three siblings, George, Hunter, and Sophie, continued to find comfort and community in their Catholic school family as they faced the uncertainty ahead.

Months later, Shane was hospitalized with severe complications that left him with a permanent brain injury. After nearly a year in hospitals in both New York and Boston, the Shane who came home was no longer the independent little boy his family knew. Today, he cannot walk, sit, or speak and requires around-the-clock care from his mother.

Shane’s mom, who served as a Dean of Students for over 12 years, had to step down from her position to care for him full-time. With her income eliminated, she faced the heartbreaking possibility that her children might not be able to continue their Catholic education.

But thanks to support from Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, Shane’s sister Sophie, a compassionate, faith-filled 10-year-old, continues to attend Trinity Regional School. This year, she received the maximum scholarship that allows her to learn and grow in the same nurturing environment that has supported her family through so much.

“All of this has been extremely difficult on my children,” Shane’s mother shared. “Sophie is very religious and incredibly loving to her brother. She is a great and special kid. We are so grateful that she can remain at Trinity thanks to Tomorrow’s Hope.”

This holiday season, your generosity ensures that children like Sophie can continue to experience the blessing of a Catholic education, even in the face of life’s challenges.

As we give thanks for the many blessings in our lives, we are reminded that your support is one of the greatest gifts of all. Through your contribution to Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation’s Annual Fund, you make it possible for families facing financial hardship to keep their children in Catholic school, where faith, hope, and love guide their education each day.

This Thanksgiving, please consider making a gift to our Annual Fund. Together, we can give more children the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in an environment where God’s light shines brightly, no matter the circumstances.

Today’s children are Tomorrow’s Hope!

With heartfelt gratitude,

Ismini Scouras

Executive Director

P.S. This Thanksgiving, we give thanks for you, our generous friends who make Catholic education possible for so many families. Your gift to the Annual Fund transforms lives and keeps hope alive in our schools. Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving!
