Ephesians 6:4—And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
For single parent Lisa Becconsall, this passage hits home. Ms. Becconsall is raising her daughter, Olivia, on her own after her husband passed away several years ago. Ms. Becconsall believes “parents should instill a faith of God from an early age so that they dutifully serve the Lord and the people.” With her strong conviction to help bring Olivia closer to their faith and to God, providing her daughter with a Catholic education has been a priority. Olivia has thrived at St. Mary School, East Islip, over the last three years academically and emotionally. But without support from Tomorrow’s Hope and donors like you, Olivia would not have had this opportunity.
Olivia is one of thousands of children who have benefitted from the STAR (Student Tuition Assistance Relationship) Program at Tomorrow’s Hope, which continues to be the cornerstone of the Foundation’s mission. Since its inception in 2005, Tomorrow’s Hope has awarded more than 24,000 students with $30 million in tuition aid. In the upcoming academic year alone, the Foundation has committed $2.5 million to nearly 1,100 students.
By sponsoring a student through the STAR Program, not only have you provided the financial support they need to attend Catholic elementary school on Long Island, but you have put them on a path to success by giving them a faith-based education.
