MEET BIANCA, Student Spotlight

Bianca has been receiving tuition assistance from Tomorrow's Hope since 2018 while living with her aunt and uncle in Glen Cove. She was brought to the United States from Honduras after suffering a freak accident that left her with severe third-degree burns and years of extensive surgeries. Bianca's family regularly traveled to Boston Children's Hospital for doctor visits, resulting in accrued copayment bills, missed work, and mounting financial hardship while keeping their two sons in college. "We have tried to give Bianca the best we can, and that's why we applied for a scholarship." Never giving up hope, Bianca was able to attend St. Dominic Elementary and Middle School in Oyster Bay. While there, Bianca took dance classes to help increase her flexibility, muscle tone, and posture as well as to strengthen her confidence.

Five years later, Bianca graduated 8th grade in June and will be attending St. Dominic High School in the fall. Her aunt, now the legal guardian said, "She had an amazing year where she earned three scholarships, an award in Spanish, an award for showing the virtues of her school, and was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Thank you so much for all the help that she received from Tomorrow's Hope Foundation. Without it, she wouldn't be in Catholic school."
