Dear Friend of Tomorrow's Hope,
Jack is a seventh-grade student at Sts. Philip and James in St. James and his family has been receiving tuition assistance from Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation for several years now. Jack is thriving in school and hopes to attend Chaminade High School once he graduates. Jack’s parents strongly believe that their son would not be on this path without the help of Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation.
The Student Tuition Assistance Relationship (STAR) Program at Tomorrow’s Hope gives donors the opportunity to sponsor financially distressed families like Jack's and provide the vital support they need to give their children a value-based Catholic elementary education. These students are instilled with moral principles that shape them into becoming successful adults who foster community, compassion, and faith. Jack, a testament to the program's impact, recently achieved a significant milestone at school and eagerly wished to express his gratitude to his STAR donor. Below is a snippet from Jack's heartfelt letter of appreciation:
“I'm writing to let you know that I am working hard every day to ‘earn’ the investment you've made in me. I know it's a sacrifice you make to help me achieve my dreams, and today I think you'll be happy to know I won first place in our school-wide spelling bee. I will now advance to a regional-level bee, and I would not have this opportunity without your generosity.
Every day, we hear stories in the news of terrible things taking place all over the world, but when I think about the bad things, I remember that there's an equally strong force of good and positivity out there. There are people like you who are spending your own money to help me live my dreams. I am grateful for the kindness you've shown me over the years. I will keep trying to make you both proud!”
Indeed, Jack not only flourishes academically but also understands the transformative gift he has received. Families like Jack's continue to grapple with rising tuition and living costs on Long Island, widening the gap and increasing the need for scholarship aid annually. This academic year, the Foundation awarded $2.5 million in tuition assistance to over 1,000 students. The demand is significant, with nearly 400 applications already submitted for the next school year, reflecting a true need of $7.2 million – $1 million more than last year!
Please consider becoming a STAR donor for the 2024-2025 school year or making a gift to our Annual Fund. Help us keep our STARs shining bright!
Your generosity can make an incredible difference. Click here to review the STAR brochure for more details on this key program. As we prepare for the academic year ahead, your contribution to our STAR Program will have the power to transform a child's life, offering them a chance at a brighter future and a greater chance to reach their full potential.
Thank you. Today’s children are Tomorrow’s Hope!
Sincerely,
Ismini Scouras
Executive Director
