Under the leadership of Brother Thomas Cleary, S.M, President of Chaminade High School and Chief Revitalization Officer of the Morning Star Initiative, and the support of Tomorrow's Hope Foundation, more than $3 million has been raised to date in support of the Morning Star Initiative's $10 million goal.

Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation (THF) is pleased to share the MSI Impact Report highlighting two years of investment and growth in Catholic elementary education on Long Island through the Morning Star Initiative (MSI), a joint effort between THF, the Marianists, and the Diocese of Rockville Centre, Department of Education, to revitalize the region’s Catholic grade schools.

When the capital campaign for Morning Star Initiative began in 2020, Michael Pascucci - a long term, steadfast donor to Tomorrow’s Hope - made a $1 million challenge commitment to the appeal by pledging to make this gift as soon as it is matched by individuals from ten different parishes raising a minimum of $100,000 from each parish.

Since Morning Star Initiative launched, the Catholic elementary schools have already seen strong results. Math and reading scores, for example, improved significantly during the 2020-2021 school year despite the challenge of distance learning. Moreover, elementary school enrollment increased slightly this year, the first year-over-year increase in Nursery through 8th-grade enrollment in more than two decades.
