Daniel Rizzi represents employers exclusively in all areas of labor and employment law, with a particular emphasis on equal employment opportunity matters and the litigation of employment law claims in federal and state courts, as well as before various administrative agencies.
A substantial portion of his practice is devoted to counseling employers and litigating matters concerning the various federal and state laws applicable to the workplace, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended by the 1991 Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and various other federal and state employment laws. Mr. Rizzi also counsels employers and litigates matters concerning traditional labor law issues, including those that arise under the National Labor Relations Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and under collective bargaining agreements, which Mr. Rizzi has and continues to negotiate for many of his clients.
Mr. Rizzi has represented and litigated matters on behalf of a diverse group of companies, including AT&T Corp., Lucent Technologies, General Electric, Hofstra University, Warner-Lambert, and Tiffany & Co. He has also participated in various alternative dispute resolution programs designed to avoid, or to limit, litigation proceedings involving his clients. He has spoken and written on a wide variety of employment law topics, including sexual harassment training and workplace diversity.
Mr. Rizzi is admitted to practice in New York, the Federal District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Western, and Northern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Fifth Circuits.
He is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Employment Law and Litigation Sections), a management member of the New York State Bar Association Equal Employment Opportunity Law Committee, and a member of the New York State Management Attorneys Conference.
