EDWARD TRAVAGLIANTI

A thirty-five year veteran of commercial banking in the metropolitan New York market, Edward Travaglianti had until July 2001 been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of European American Bank (EAB). At the time of Citibank's acquisition of the $17 Billion EAB, he was appointed President of the newly formed Commercial Markets Group of Citibank, N.A. with responsibility for Citibank's nationwide Middle Market and Small Business activities. Mr. Travaglianti retired from Citibank in October of 2002. In February of 2004, Mr. Travaglianti resumed his banking career when he joined Commerce Bancorp., a $33 Billion commercial bank as President, Commerce Bank, Long Island.

Mr. Travaglianti's career in finance has always been synonymous with vigorous personal leadership across a broad spectrum of community organizations and institutions dedicated to improving economic, health and cultural opportunities in the region. He is Vice Chairman of the board of directors of Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, New York and is a member of the board of directors of the Winthrop-South Nassau Health System. He is a member of the board of directors of Pall Corporation, Chairman of the Board of the Long Island Works Coalition and is also a founding member of the board of directors of Cop-Shot, Inc. In June of 2004 Mr. Travaglianti was appointed to Steve Levy's Suffolk County Economic Development Advisory Council.

Advocacy of education, research and health issues has led to Mr. Travaglianti's appointment as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Long Island University. He is a member of the board of trustees of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and serves as its Treasurer. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the New York Blood Center and will serve as Chairman of the Long Island Blood Services Volunteer Leadership Campaign for 2005 - 2006.

A lifelong resident of the New York area, Mr. Travaglianti received an undergraduate degree in Economics from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, in 1970, with subsequent graduate study in Corporate Finance and Banking at New York University's Stern Graduate School of Business in New York City. He resides in Lloyd Harbor with his wife and children.
